The Experience

Salesforce's Platform Security team protects the foundation that our customers, partners, and developers build on. We are hands-on security engineers who work closely with Product and Engineering throughout the software development lifecycle.

As a Product Security Lead, you will be the technical security lead for the user-facing application and experience layers of the platform. This includes front-end frameworks, runtimes, and rendering surfaces, plus fast-growing AI agent experiences and web data-access surfaces that appear in our own products, third-party channels, and external agentic clients.

You will set the security bar for these areas by shaping how controls are designed and making secure patterns the default. With Agentforce woven into our platform, you will help define the trust model for the next generation of agent-driven experiences.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA, or Seattle/Bellevue, WA, and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Lead security assurance for the experience and user interface (UI) layer. Run threat modeling, security design reviews, and code review (JavaScript, TypeScript, and Java) across web frameworks, runtimes, rendering pipelines, and the data-access Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) beneath them. Design platform-level fixes for recurring weaknesses such as cross-site scripting (XSS), cross-site request forgery (CSRF), server-side request forgery (SSRF), injection, and broken access control.
  • Serve as the standing security lead for multi-release programs that span quarters and teams. Examples include expanding guest-user data access, rendering first-party experiences into third-party surfaces, and defining the trust model for agent-facing products.
  • Reduce AI and agentic risk. Address threats such as prompt injection, excessive agency, tool abuse, and memory poisoning. Design human approval steps for high-impact actions. Define least-privilege tool scoping, audit logging, and short-lived scoped credentials for Model Context Protocol (MCP) and connector integrations.
  • Set the standard and mentor others. Build secure patterns into frameworks, software development kits (SDKs), and rendering pipelines so unsafe code is hard to write. Author security guidelines that other teams adopt, and coach experienced developers on secure design.

You're Our Person If...

  • You have 8+ years in product, application, or platform security, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • You have deep expertise in web and application security, including the Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) injection classes, XSS, CSRF, SSRF, broken access control, and the browser security model.
  • You have hands-on experience securing modern UI frameworks, web runtimes, and rendering pipelines, including guest-user or unauthenticated surfaces.
  • You have experience securing GraphQL and REST APIs, including authentication, cross-tenant data exposure, and abuse of expensive queries.
  • You have led threat modeling across complex web, UI, or data-access environments and driven findings to resolution.
  • You understand AI and large language model (LLM) risks in real product work, including prompt injection, tool abuse, and MCP connector security, and you know the controls that keep sensitive data from reaching an LLM.
  • You can review JavaScript or TypeScript and at least one other language, such as Java, Python, or Go, for design and source-code issues.
  • You have written security standards and led cross-team programs to measurable results, and you can influence experienced developers with clear, actionable review feedback.

Even Better If...

  • You have secured UI frameworks or data-access APIs at scale for a large multi-tenant software-as-a-service (SaaS) product.
  • You have hands-on experience with LLM application security or agent frameworks.
  • You have bug bounty or red-team experience.
